In modern vehicle design, many different specialty materials and substrates are used to construct the vehicles and engineered to comply with stringent vehicle safety regulations. These materials include steel, advanced high strength steel (AHSS), ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS), stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and magnesium. Many different plastics and substrates are also utilized throughout the vehicle, including Polypropylene (PP), Polyurethane (PUR), Poly-Vinyl-Chloride (PVC), ABS, Polyethylene (PE), Polycarbonate (PC), fiberglass, carbon fiber, and forged carbon fiber.
